Illustrative example based on operating assumptions from the B’Smart presentation. This is not guaranteed ROI; actual results depend on each fleet’s size, usage and operation.
B'Smart platform
This is the fleet digitalisation interface: every marker is a rental machine with its real status, location and alerts. These are not B'Smart offices — they are your assets in real time.

Core capabilities
Four fleet digitalisation capabilities that prevent the stoppage and speed up the next rental.
Schedule the service before a breakdown stops the machine.
See how it worksAbnormal usage patterns flagged automatically, so you act before the stoppage.
See how it worksRead ECU fault codes remotely, with no physical connection to the machine.
See how it worksFaster return inspection, so the machine is ready for the next rental sooner.
See how it worksMachinery rental companies already digitalise their operations with B'Smart
We detect the abnormal condition during the rental, before the stoppage.
Return inspection and workshop work prioritised by real condition.
Remote diagnosis avoids on-site visits and reduces costs.
Real usage recorded: fewer machine hours left uninvoiced.
Total cost of ownership
The real cost of a machine is not its purchase price: it is breakdowns, technician trips, downtime and the service life you lose. Fleet digitalisation acts on all of them.
Fewer breakdowns, fewer site visits and planned workshop repairs instead of emergencies on site.
Every stoppage burns technician hours, hurts the customer and leaves machine hours uninvoiced.
More availability and utilisation spread the asset's fixed cost across more rental hours.
Running without critical conditions or overdue maintenance extends each machine's lifecycle.

View solution: Integration and advanced analyticsHow it works
Connect the machine and document its condition with inspection, delivery note and digital signature.
Capture usage, hours, CAN BUS, sensors and location while the machine works at the customer site.
Detect DTCs and anomalies, guide by mobile and diagnose before dispatching a technician.
Compare post-rental condition and create a structured damage and condition inspection.
Prioritise maintenance and preparation to recover availability and billing sooner.
Latest innovations
Machine condition documented on return, without a different judgement at every branch
When the rental ends — and before delivery where it applies — the machine is photographed from a mobile phone and computer-vision models identify visible damage and apparent condition issues. The output is not a loose photo: it is a structured inspection result, comparable between check-out and check-in and tied to the rental.
The machine's own fault code, visible in the platform without connecting to it
On machines that support it, B'Smart reads the fault and diagnostic codes generated by the control unit over CAN BUS. Where the machine exposes no standard data, we decode the bus or capture the signal with direct sensors. The code reaches the platform with machine, timestamp and operating context.
Whoever stands next to the machine understands what happened and what to do
When a trouble code or anomaly is detected, the operator or technician opens the alert on their phone and gets a plain-language explanation of the detected problem and the recommended action. No physical connection and no diagnostic equipment on site.
Plan the intervention before the machine stops
Using each machine's history and current data we anticipate degradation and maintenance needs, and turn them into planned services instead of urgent repairs. Planning follows real usage, not a theoretical calendar.
Deviations detected before a threshold or an obvious failure
Analytics learn each machine's normal behaviour in its usual work and continuously compare incoming data against that pattern. Abnormal consumption, temperature, load or usage surfaces before any fixed threshold would flag it.
Delivery, customer-site work, incidents, return and preparation: data follows the machine throughout the rental.
AI inspection and digital delivery note with signature on mobile: condition documented on the way out.
Continuous analytics: ECU trouble codes and automatic anomaly detection over real usage.
Alert with explanation and recommended action on the operator's phone; remote diagnosis by the technician.
Post-rental inspection, prioritised maintenance and preparation to start billing again sooner.
The shift
| Reactive rental operation | Digital rental operation with B'Smart |
|---|---|
| The breakdown appears at the customer site without warning | The anomaly is detected before it interrupts the rental |
| The workshop receives the machine with no context | The intervention is prepared before the return |
| Every incident requires a site visit | Remote diagnosis avoids on-site visits and reduces costs. |
| The machine waits before it can go out again | Faster turnaround and more rentable hours |
| Delivery and return rely on loose photos | Structured, comparable inspections: the system automatically detects damage, documents it, and informs the customer based on objective data. |
Flagship example · DPF
Filter saturation level monitored continuously.
Alert to the fleet manager and workshop before the fault becomes critical.
Configurable start inhibition so the machine's condition does not worsen.
Fewer technician trips and fewer complaints over stopped machines.
Multi-brand rental fleet
A 10-minute installation standard, with training and follow-up for your staff.
CAN BUS, direct sensors, ModBus/RS485 or API, depending on each machine.
Excavators, platforms, forklifts, gensets, rollers or cranes on a single platform.
We also unify factory-device data without forcing a single hardware route.
Real case · Rental company with more than 200 machines
A real B'Smart customer with more than 200 machines. After enabling automatic DPF protection and anomaly analytics, the customer reports these figures. The data belongs to this customer only and is not a guarantee of results.
